About Ayurvedic Sports Medicine
Actymed Healthcare is Kerala’s leading centre for sports medicine — trusted by Olympians, national-level athletes, college players, and active individuals across Idukki, Ernakulam, and Kollam districts. Under the leadership of Dr. Ajeesh T Alex — a BAMS physician with an International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sports Nutrition and advanced training in sports medicine — Actymed delivers a standard of care previously unavailable outside major metro cities in Kerala. Supported by the Sports and Games Welfare Association (SAGWA).
What makes Actymed unique is the integration of modern sports medicine science with Ayurveda Marma therapy — a combination that accelerates recovery, prevents re-injury, and optimises athletic performance in ways that neither system achieves alone.
Why Sports Medicine Matters at ACTYMED
An injury is rarely just about the injured part – it affects how you move, train and compete, and a wrong or delayed diagnosis can turn a minor problem into a season-ending one. Dedicated sports medicine exists to prevent exactly that: fast, accurate diagnosis, a plan built around your sport and your timeline, and a return to play only when you are genuinely ready. At Actymed this is delivered by pairing modern sports medicine science with Ayurveda Marma therapy, so recovery is quicker, re-injury is less likely and performance is protected – a standard of care few clinics in the region offer under one roof.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Ajeesh for a sports injury?
No referral is required. You can book directly online or walk in to our Thodupuzha clinic at any time.
How soon after an injury should I come in?
As soon as possible. Early accurate diagnosis is the single most important factor in fast sports injury recovery. Coming in within 24–72 hours of an injury allows Dr. Ajeesh to begin the right treatment immediately.
Can Actymed help if I have already had surgery?
Absolutely. Post-surgical rehabilitation is one of Actymed’s core services, with a structured rehabilitation programme to restore full function and return you to sport safely.
Is sports medicine only for competitive athletes?
Not at all. Anyone who is physically active deserves the same quality of sports injury care as a competitive athlete.
Which Actymed clinic should I visit for sports medicine?
All three locations offer sports medicine. Thodupuzha is open 24 hours. Perumbavoor is open Monday to Saturday 9 AM–5 PM. Kottarakkara is open every Monday 8:30 AM–5 PM.
